SPK and Associates are proud to sponsor the Well Water Project in Ethiopia.
SPK is proud to sponsor The Well Water Project run by Zoz Amba. Since 2015, SPK and the Zoz Amba Foundation have been working together on projects that serve girls and women in rural Ethiopia. The overall program works to help keep girls in school and continuously learning. Additionally, it also funds community appropriate technology, such as diesel engine mills that can grind teff grain into flour, saving the women countless hours of hard manual labor.
The project will provide access to clean water for the Worku-Jember school. This school has been dependent on water from a hand-dug well that has now gone dry. The project will enable the mobilization of contracts with local professionals to replace the hand-dug well with a 100ft deep well. This will serve the water needs of students, faculty, and the community for the foreseeable future. Once in place, it will be locally maintained.
As a leading woman-owned Engineering & IT Services Company that serves product development teams and have been helping our customers to harness technology to optimize engineering and attain their business goals, sponsoring The project is both an honor and great match to the values we drive in our team culture.
If you would like to get involved with the Well Water Project and engineer the future success of Worku-Jember school, you can donate here.
